Racanelli Completes New Clinical and Ambulatory Surgical Center
Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. recently completed a new clinical and ambulatory surgical center for Vinayak Ganapati LLC. Racanelli served as General Contractor in the construction of the 9,000 square foot, single story building with occupied basement. The center is located in East Setauket, NY. The owner’s representative was the Perfume Center of America, Inc.
The project involved demolition, drainage, a complete interior fit-out with mechanical, electrical and plumbing sitework. The building exterior features an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS), Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofing, Alucobond panels and new LED site lighting. The interior was finished with ceramic tile, vinyl composite tile (VCT), paint and wallpaper. The project also included installation of a heating, ventilating and air conditioning system, as well as the routing of medical gas in the building. The ventilating and air conditioning system is mechanical.
In this project, Racanelli Construction had to address various challenges dealing with the delivery of materials in a timely manner due to pandemic-related supply chain problems. The routing of medical gas, getting a CO2 pump into the basement of the existing facility, and the removal of an existing elevator and installation of a new elevator all proved to be challenging.
The project was valued at $5.1 million.
